12 weeks old yesterday

12 weeks old yesterday

Emma and I walked about 1/2 a mile to the soccer complex down the street yesterday. The soccer fields have a small grove of shade trees off to one side, and, since it was over 80 for most of the afternoon, the shade felt wonderful. Yesterday was the first time that Emma and I have gone to a park alone and we just laid on the ground, enjoying the outdoors. Even though the busy street was close by it still…

We received a page-long notice yesterday saying that the pools in the complex will open this Saturday (yay! get out your towels and sunscreen!).That statement took up one line. The rest of the page was taken up by rules and the consequences (i.e. pool being closed) for not following them. Kind of nice to look back at where I’ve been, a bit like the Israelites and their stones of remembrance (Joshua 4:1-9). But…

mother + daughter

mother + daughter

Here they are! These are our first try at a mother + daughter apron set. I love the yellow, pink and green stripes. So yummy looking. I laid them out so that the stripes are vertical – slimming, you know. So you can make (and eat) even more cookies together. Because the material is a heavier woven, the pockets are unlined, but all the edges are finished to prevent fraying in the wash. Because aprons are made to get messy….

fruit of the sewing table

ta-da! another one is completed, with two more to follow shortly. i especially like the way the salmon pink plays off the green on this apron, and the flowers are so cheekily cheery. So spring-like. And also summer-like. i love how that works. :)
