customer love: a golden garden wedding

Customer love time again! I love a wedding, don’t you? For today’s customer love edition, I have a lovely customer’s wedding to share with you! This time it’s a gorgeous golden garden wedding from a sweet bride. Alicia contacted us asking if we could make some custom versions of our Triangle Bunting Chair Garlands, and of course I said yes. :) an intimate golden garden wedding | the Path Less TraveledShe was interested in getting them in a glitter gold to use as an accent in her intimate garden wedding, and we were able to make them exactly as she had in mind {I always love it when that happens!}.  Her wedding was so lovely that I wanted to just crawl inside the photos when I saw them – gorgeous.

{by the way, if you have an idea for a custom item you would like us to make for you, contact us! Most of the time we can accommodate your request, and we are always happy to try.}chair banners at a golden garden wedding | the Path Less Traveled

What better way to start off a Monday than with a few lovely photos {and a large cup of coffee!}? This morning I have a few gorgeous pictures from a customer’s watercolor and vintage music themed wedding – they’re so pretty!waterclor wedding She used our Vintage Music Confetti Hearts to scatter around the guest book table, adding a layer of texture and interest to the decor.watercolor and vintage music themed wedding on the Path Less TraveledAnd then her niece scattered the hearts on the guest tables – and even on TOP of the flowers! I love this idea –  and brought the look together with style and charm.

customer love – wedding edition

I love it when a potential customer contacts me with her vision and colors – and then tells me the things she’s thinking of ordering are for her upcoming wedding(!). The process of working together to ensure that the shades of paper are just “right”, the back-and-forth about how quantities, sizes, timelines … it’s almost like planning my own wedding, but without the stress. :) custom colored heart cupcake toppers make a stunning display in this romantic wedding! Madeline’s wedding colors were turquoise and coral, and I was able to make turquoise heart cupcake toppers for her (which I’ve since added to the shop!) as well as some chair garlands in her colors.custom colored heart cupcake toppers make a stunning display in this romantic wedding! custom colored heart chair backers add a gorgeous pop of color in this romantic wedding! coral and aqua heart chair backers add a gorgeous pop of color in this romantic wedding! custom colored heart cupcake toppers make a stunning display in this romantic wedding! Madeline had a very specific vision for her wedding, and I was thrilled to work with her to make sure that it came into being {and was perfect!}. By the way, isn’t she just the most lovely bride? If you’d like to get to know her better, she has an amazing blog called Style Me Thrifty, where she shares fashion tips and finds – all with an eye toward those of us on smaller budgets!

Madeline, you were a delight to work with, and I am so thrilled to see how your gorgeous wedding came together!

I think I’ve mentioned how much I enjoy making up custom projects for you a time or two before – it’s always so fun to see your ideas coming to life in my hands!DSC_0101This bride contacted me through my Etsy shop, inquiring about a custom version of my “forever” hand stamped heart cake garland {so darling, isn’t it?! I am looking forward to adding it to the site soon!}. She was hoping that I’d be able to personalize the cake topper for them, and the end result was perfect. *updated – you can find them on the site now!

I’m sure that this will be the perfect touch for their big day. Imagine how sweet it will look atop the cake … darling, I’m sure!

One of the lovely things about this personalized version is that, if they choose, the couple can use it later in their home – draped across the corner of a framed wedding photo, perhaps?

How about you? Is there anything in the shop that you’d like to see a custom or personalized version of?

XO

almost 3 years

almost 3 years

3 years ago today John and I were finally able to be together after not seeing each other for over 4 months. We were finally in the same time zone, same state, same city, same car. It was wonderful.

(photo from the rehearsal dinner – we both needed sleep!)

3 years ago today we were not only finally together, we were finally alone and on our way to our last pre-marital counseling session with our pastor (and the only one that happened in person). The next stop of the day was to get our marriage license. We were sorely tempted to pay the extra $25 and get married then and there – so that we could not only be together but be man and wife just a few days early. But we waited.

It was so good to finally feel each other’s touch again, see each other’s face … four and a half months apart just before a wedding is really, really rough. But our God was so faithful.

Our love story is just riddled with bits and pieces of the faithfulness of God, so much so that we asked a friend to sing “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (using Fernando Ortega’s new score) as part of the music for our wedding.

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou for ever will be

Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness, mercy and love

Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me
Great is thy faithfulness

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside

Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
All I have needed thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me

And you know what? He hasn’t changed, He is still faithful.
We’ve had a very good three years. Interesting, exciting, sometimes trying and sometimes overflowing with joy – but it has been good.
Right now we are in a place that I truly never expected – or dreamed – to be in, but He is faithful. Would I change our current circumstances? In a heartbeat! But then we wouldn’t be in the prime place for us to see the greatness of God’s faithfulness.

Darling, I love you. I’m so very glad that I am yours and you are mine. You make every day brighter, hearing your voice lifts my heart, and seeing your face … is wonderful!
I don’t know that I’d recommend any other couple taking the path that God has led us on together, but Darling, it’s been so good going down it with you.

wedding road trip

wedding road trip

A close friend got married in Michigan last weekend, and, since John was unable to go to the wedding, his mom (VERY graciously – thank you!!!!) offered to drive with me and Emma.
So, here are a few pictures from the weekend:

must start with these. of course. because there is an adorable baby in them. and a handsome brother-in-law. and it was the start of the trip.

John drove halfway to Indianapolis and Evan drove halfway to Cincinnati. We met at McD’s (which happens to sell a fair iced mocha).

bonding time with Grandpa S.

more brothers-in-law, making sure the van was ready (i.e. pretending to drive)

the bride’s family hosted a picnic for all the out of town friends and family on Friday night

a few extra hands on deck never hurts when it comes to getting ready for a wedding! Bobbie Sue had just finished curling and pinning up 12 other heads, and was running low on time …

all those years of arranging flowers from the yard came in to play here (I stole the pic off of Facebook)
