free money? yes, please!

free money? yes, please!

*Giveaway Closed (I’ll announce the winner on Tuesday)*

I’m not sure about you, but I’ve been in the Christmas gift planning mode for … a while now (okay, yes, I’ve been planning since Sept.).

I’ve been running ideas through my head with different gift options for our loved ones, trying to figure out the best gift for each person and how to give the most love for the least amount of money. Should I make them something? Shop sales? Hmmm.
I’ve rewritten my mental list soooo many times already (come to think of it, it might actually help to write it down. Then I’d know if I’ve come up with the same idea twice … or three times).

Anyway, all that to say, I’d love to have a little free money. Or, while we’re at it, a lot of free money.
There’s very little chance that any will come my way, but it might come yours! Oh yeah? Yeah.
But first, have you heard of CSN Stores? I heard about it a while ago through my various internet wanderings, and it is quite amazing.
CSN Stores is made up of over 200 online stores, selling everything from children’s backpacks (I’ve been thinking about getting one for Emma – how cute would it be for her to carry it as the diaper bag?!) to cookware to home furnishings to, well, you name it.
That all brings us to this piece of news – the folks at CSN Stores are very generously sponsoring a giveaway here!!!
They are offering the lucky winner a FREE $25 gift code, valid at any of their online stores!!! How nice is that?!

Giveaway guidelines:
-The giveaway is only open to my U.S. and Canadian readers since CSN Stores ships only to the US and Canada. International shipping charges may apply for Canadian addresses.
-You can have as many chances to win as you’d like (see below).
-Giveaway closes on Monday, November 22nd and the winner will be chosen randomly. I can’t enter since I’m hosting it. (bummer. but that means you have a better chance!)

For Chance #1: Just be a follower of the blog. It is kind of the point of the giveaway in the first place :) Leave a comment letting me know that you follow along. If you’ve been reading in silence for a long time, this is your chance to finally say hi!

For Chance #2: Leave a comment telling me what your Christmas list includes. Are you making most of the things? Shopping sales? Buying their favorite perfume? I need ideas!

For Chance #3 (and more): Share the news! Let others know about the giveaway by blogging and/or posting on your favorite social media. Let as many people know about as you can! Because we could all use a bit of free money, right? Each time you post about the giveaway come back here and leave a comment for an additional entry. :)

I’ll announce the winner on the 23rd and am looking forward to reading your comments!

I’d like to reveal my latest project, one that has been 9 months + in the making:
Ian Andrew is here!!!!

Our little one (he turned out to be not so little at 9lbs 7oz!) finally made his awaited appearance last Tuesday morning.
He is doing quite well, eating and sleeping and enjoying the Moses Basket. He also has a remarkably loud cry (our apologies to the neighbors).

Some of the things I love about him so far:

  • the full head of hair (Emma was nearly bald until she was 6 months, so having an infant with hair is a new experience!)
  • the dimple in the center of his chin (not sure yet what family member that came from)
  • the gassy little half smiles
  • his funny little ears
  • the way he puts his hands over his head when he sleeps

and those are just some starters.

Our little family is getting to know the newest member, resting up from the interrupted nights and loving every minute of it. :) I had almost forgotten how wonderful newborn smells and sounds are ………

exciting!

exciting!

This is so exciting for me: two blogs have featured my projects!

Last Sunday Prudent Baby featured the watercolor silhouette that I made for Mother’s Day

and this morning Along For The Ride featured the hanging votive holders.

Really, it’s so fun to click over to a site and see a photo of your project and a link to your blog. :D
Ladies, thanks for featuring me!

new listing:

new listing:

Upcycled Tshirt Blooms and also a listing for a single bloom

A trio of lovely little blossoms that will add a bit of springtime cheer to anything you pin them on.

Wear one – or all three – on the lapel of your shirt, jacket or sweater, pin them to a hat or bag, a pillow, lampshade …. the possibilities are nearly endless!

These would make a lovely Mother’s Day gift (it’s coming up!). :) And if you live locally, they’d be nice for Easter, too.

new news

hello again. :)

the shop has a new site. you can now begin to find me on Etsy! it will take me a bit to get all the listings transferred over, so you can still find me on BigCartel for a while.
there are a few reasons for the switch, but the main one is that hopefully the shop will get a bit more exposure there.

we’ll see how it goes! in the meantime, thank you so much for being along with us. :)

it’s been a while

it’s been a while

the last post was on August 7th!

My, how the time has flown.

Not that we haven’t been busy or anything. :) To catch you up to speed we have moved, found out that our family of 3 is becoming 4 (it was a BIG surprise, too! we’re excited, but it took a little while to get over the shock), Emma and I went out to California for a week, and my Gramma just passed away.

Even though we moved back in August I am only just now getting my project area organized. Sewing has taken a bit of a back seat to the other bits of life, but now the machine is getting pulled out and I am getting ready to get back to work.

See you again soon. :)

updates

updates

Well, hello there. It sure has been a while! It’s about time to update this blog, don’t you think?

I have been busy, very busy, doing many many things, and I have kind of left you all in the dark about it. But now that most of it is over you’ll finally get an update on few of the details (at least the sewing related ones!).

My husband’s brother got married on the 1st, and my sewing machine and personal skill were requisitioned to join the wedding prep task force.

I made 13 of these table toppers for the rehearsal dinner,

5 vests for the younger guys,
(the guys looked pretty great, even if I do say say so myself!)

and a pillow as a gift for the new Mr. and Mrs. Smillie.

(the letters are made up of I Corinthians 13:4-8 embroidered in pink floss on cream duponi silk)

And that’s pretty much all that I’ve gotten accomplished, well, that’s is sewing related, that is. So those are the reasons that the blog has been dormant.

But, even though I haven’t been saying anything about them, the aprons are still for sale. Oh, yes they are. They would love to be wrapped up in tissue and sent on a trip through the mail.

Also, I have decided to take special orders. So if you see something here that you like and would like to comission it (or something like it) for yourself, please feel free to email me at path.less.traveled.market@gmail.com and we can talk pricing!
