Hello there! I'm Elizabeth. Welcome to my website and blog space. All the products in my little shop are hand crafted and stem from my desire to provide creative and high quality products that make people feel lovely. I believe the little moments of life matter, every day should be celebrated, and that the beauty all around us is a gift from the Creator to be enjoyed. I'm married to a wonderful guy who happens to be my greatest cheerleader and best friend, mama to three little ones and currently reside in the heartland of America.

new listing:

Upcycled Tshirt Blooms and also a listing for a single bloom

A trio of lovely little blossoms that will add a bit of springtime cheer to anything you pin them on.

Wear one – or all three – on the lapel of your shirt, jacket or sweater, pin them to a hat or bag, a pillow, lampshade …. the possibilities are nearly endless!

These would make a lovely Mother’s Day gift (it’s coming up!). :) And if you live locally, they’d be nice for Easter, too.

little girl skirt

little girl skirt

Did you like the little skirt that I made for Emma a few days ago?

I used a free pattern download that I found over on the Oliver + S blog. Oliver + S is a darling company that designs and sells children’s clothing patterns. Their patterns are just adorable, and wonderful to work with!

This pattern is quick and simple to make (it doesn’t even have a rolled hem). In fact, it is so very quick and simple that I didn’t even take any pictures as I worked on it. Seriously, this projects goes by quickly. :)

I love that the material has a vintage look to it. :) And so wish that I could get wallpaper in that design!

naptime project

Emma got a new skirt while she napped yesterday morning. It’s a simple little skirt, and probably a tad long for her, but it satisfied my itch to make something “springy” for her to wear. And the fabric is so gorgeous!!!

spring!

spring!

It’s hard to believe that March is here, but it is! The weather is becoming more and more spring-like, and the seeds on my windowsill are sprouting (flowers soon?).
The fabric store around the corner is having a “March-madness” sale, and I brought home these bits of fabric the other day. I’m thinking that the green and pink will turn into a dress for Emma – she is liking dresses better now that she is walking more and not crawling on the hems :) – and the blue pieces might become pillows? We will see. They are all so fresh and pretty!

new news

new news

hello again. :)

the shop has a new site. you can now begin to find me on Etsy! it will take me a bit to get all the listings transferred over, so you can still find me on BigCartel for a while.
there are a few reasons for the switch, but the main one is that hopefully the shop will get a bit more exposure there.

we’ll see how it goes! in the meantime, thank you so much for being along with us. :)

tidying up a bit

tidying up a bit

With my energy back now that I’m in my second trimester, I went through the closet in Emma’s room/sewing room and organized the fabric. I had only had it in boxes marked “fabric” and now they are organized and labeled by type. There is something about having it all labeled that gives me a peaceful feeling. :)

it’s been a while

it’s been a while

the last post was on August 7th!

My, how the time has flown.

Not that we haven’t been busy or anything. :) To catch you up to speed we have moved, found out that our family of 3 is becoming 4 (it was a BIG surprise, too! we’re excited, but it took a little while to get over the shock), Emma and I went out to California for a week, and my Gramma just passed away.

Even though we moved back in August I am only just now getting my project area organized. Sewing has taken a bit of a back seat to the other bits of life, but now the machine is getting pulled out and I am getting ready to get back to work.

See you again soon. :)

updates

updates

Well, hello there. It sure has been a while! It’s about time to update this blog, don’t you think?

I have been busy, very busy, doing many many things, and I have kind of left you all in the dark about it. But now that most of it is over you’ll finally get an update on few of the details (at least the sewing related ones!).

My husband’s brother got married on the 1st, and my sewing machine and personal skill were requisitioned to join the wedding prep task force.

I made 13 of these table toppers for the rehearsal dinner,

5 vests for the younger guys,
(the guys looked pretty great, even if I do say say so myself!)

and a pillow as a gift for the new Mr. and Mrs. Smillie.

(the letters are made up of I Corinthians 13:4-8 embroidered in pink floss on cream duponi silk)

And that’s pretty much all that I’ve gotten accomplished, well, that’s is sewing related, that is. So those are the reasons that the blog has been dormant.

But, even though I haven’t been saying anything about them, the aprons are still for sale. Oh, yes they are. They would love to be wrapped up in tissue and sent on a trip through the mail.

Also, I have decided to take special orders. So if you see something here that you like and would like to comission it (or something like it) for yourself, please feel free to email me at path.less.traveled.market@gmail.com and we can talk pricing!

more aprons are in the works ……… I’m just having a few “technical difficulties” along the way. Rather, the machine thinks it’s hungry for thread, trys to chew it and then doesn’t like it and spits it back out. “Bad sewing machine! Bad!”

I think I have figured out the issue, though, so things should be up and running again shortly.
