Chair Garland Decor Ideas {a continuing series}

Chair Garland Decor Ideas {a continuing series}

Have you heard? The chair garlands in the shop aren’t just for decorating chairs!
When it comes to using these petite garlands, there are so many options that chairs are only the the start! This is the beginning of a continuing series where I’ll share some of my ideas with you {and, if you’d like to share some of yours, I’ll post them as well!}

Use a chair garland to decorate a frame – this has been such a fun way to add some quick, seasonally appropriate, decor to my photo wall!

For Valentine’s Day I had the Red and White Heart Garland here, and as the spring holidays approached I switched it to this sweet Doily Garland. I find that they add a perfect touch of softness and unexpected color and am in love with this idea <3

a recap of love

a recap of love

Did you have a lovely Mother’s Day yesterday? I know it’s a joy-full day for some of you and a bittersweet day for others, and for some of you a day full of sorrow – whatever your emotion, I hope you were able to enjoy the spring day and soak in the ones you love <3

Mother's Day RosesOur Mother’s Day was full of family – both our imediate little brood {who woke up at 7, crying of course … the dreamed-of breakfast in bed might need to wait a few more years!} and my husband’s family.

As far as gifts go, there are two that are making me smile: last weekend John sent me to Lowe’s to pick out some flowers, and I brought home this lovely light pink Knock Out Rose, and it’s already blooming! I LOVE flowers, especially roses, and seeing this out in the yard from the kitchen window has definitely made me feel loved <3

And then yesterday afternoon I went shopping with two of my sister-in-laws for some summer wardrobe refreshers , and I found the sweetest white sundress {and it was 50% cheaper in the store than online – score!}.

Some of the reviews online say that they think it’s a bit short, but being a bit short myself I found it to be the perfect skim-my-knees length :) Now that I’m almost back to my pre-baby weight {notice I didn’t say “shape?”}, I’m really looking forward to wearing pretty little things again! And maybe John and I can go out somewhere? {Sweetie, that was a hint …}

But the best gift? The kiddos coming up to me throughout the day, throwing their arms around me and declaring “happy birthday, Mommy!” or “happy Valentine’s Day, Mommy!” or “guess what? I love you Mommy!” and then near the end of the day {when they were starting to get the hang of it} “happy Mom’s Day, Mommy!”. {melts me every time!}

Love to you all,

XO

customer love – parties edition!

customer love – parties edition!

Each time a customer leaves a comment saying how much they love their purchase, it makes my day. I especially love it when they tell their friends and send me photos of how they have used the things that they have bought! Last month I shared some party photos, and this month I have a follow up one :)

Amber shared her little guy’s incredibly darling first birthday with us last month, and a few weeks later she sent me another photo to share – this time a close up of her marshmallow pop display!

Amber used the Red, White and Blue Star toppers to add the finishing touch to her super cute idea, as she says: “I put some florist foam in the boxes and stuck the cupcake toppers on the foam.” Great job, Amber! And thank you again for sharing! The star toppers were the perfect finish to your display :)

Do you have photos that you’d like to share? If so, you can either email them to me at elizabeth@pltmarket.com or tag them with #thepathlesstraveledmarket on Instagram – we’d all love to see your ideas!

{by the way, did I mention that I often send “thank you” coupons to the lovelies who let me share their photos with you? Yep, I do :)}

Happy Friday!

XO

customer love – proposal edition!

I was thrilled to be contacted by a customer a while back, asking if I could help him with an order that he was planning to use as part of his proposal{!} to his girlfriend. Thrilled is an understatement – because what girl doesn’t love a bit of romance? :)

His plan was to make up a batch of heart shaped pancakes and top them with several of my stamped heart toppers, both the “BE MINE” and “LOVE” versions. He contacted me a few weeks later saying that it had gone perfectly! I can only imagine how delighted she was to be greeted with the breakfast and declaration of his love <3

little pieces

little pieces

the photos that I capture on Instagram are just little pieces of our life, and it’s really interesting to see what moments I capture {and which ones I don’t} – of course, it seems as if {since I instagram from our iPad} I only capture the things that stand still. Which of course explains why Emma Grace, Ian and John don’t show up very often, but flowers, projects and Olivia do. :)

here are some of the little pieces of this last week:

blooms in our yard – they make me soooo happy! clockwise: anemones, our new peach tree, returning tulips and sprouting veggies. If only I could keep these lovelies all year long <3IMG_2295 packing up a bunch of Atlas Heart Cupcake Toppers – they are always so lovely!IMG_2298John turned on the radio when he arrived home Monday afternoon and my heart broke – it seems as if there has been a fresh tragedy every day to add to our prayers. It makes my heart long for heaven more, but also yearn to love my darlings that much harder. “for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a strong mind”
frametastic-1 we introduced Dessert Garlands to the site!IMG_2304 Olivia came down with a fever on Tuesday/Wednesday and then shared it with me – we are just now catching up with everything that went undone while we did extra cuddling <3IMG_2312the sewing corner – so many, many miles of garland get sewn here, so many projects for loved ones and tiny clothes made {and mended}
IMG_2313 feeling better – yay!!!I came back to my project after getting the kiddos a snack one morning to find this: a Nerf gun, dart and little boy tools mingled with the white wedding hearts ;D4bc8af3ea9d911e284fa22000a1f9c87_7 so much love! a bundle of 75 red, pink and white heart dessert toppers, each stamped with “LOVE”IMG_2328 on Saturday I was all caught up with orders {yippee!} and took the rest of the day to catch up on cleaning – and baking. Apparently, making things with sugar rests me :) then, once the littles were in bed for the night, John and I stayed up with a movie, cheesecake AND cookies and a game of Scrabble :)IMG_2329

and last, but not least, the GIVEAWAY! if you haven’t entered yet to win one of our new Gold Glitter Scallop Dessert Garlands, you might want to head over and enter :)

see you soon! <3

customer love – parties edition!

Each time a customer leaves a comment saying how much they love their purchase, it makes my day. I especially love it when they tell their friends and send me photos of how they have used the things that they have bought, and recently you lovelies have sent some super darling ones!
Here are a few of the most recent photos:

the red heart cupcake toppers in a fun filled owl and heart birthday – so cute!

aren’t the owls and hearts just darling together?

It’s so simple to add a festive and patriotic touch to your desserts with the Red, White and Blue Star set – and even more striking with a miniature flag to top them off!

The red heart toppers again, this time for a little girl’s first birthday – love! The red is really striking against the colors of aqua, teal and yellow :)

The Red Heart Garland sweetening a display of photos from the baby girl’s first year – I love this idea!

the Star cupcake toppers again, this time adding a crisp and masculine touch to a little guy’s first birthday – can you see the little number “one” on the cake? I love how creative you all are!

She even used some of the star chair garlands to drape in front of {and in!} the super darling Birthday Boy vignette. Love this!

Do you have photos that you’d like to share? If so, you can either email them to me at elizabeth@pltmarket.com or tag them with #thepathlesstraveledmarket on Instagram – we’d all love to see your ideas!

Don’t forget -there are just a few hours left to save 20% using the exclusive coupon. It expires at midnight tonight! I hope you are all having a truly lovely weekend,

Friday again?

Friday again?

How can it be Friday again already?

And Easter is almost here! Having it early this year means that’s it’s kind of catching me off guard {making the girls matching Easter dresses? um, might not happen …}. Are you finding the same thing true for you?

Each pick is made using rabbits cut from 5 different colors of cardstock: pink, yellow, light blue, light green and purple. Each is double sided so there isn't front or back - they look cute from every angle! Each little bunny is about 1/2" tall. The set includes: 3 yellow 3 pink 2 green 2 blue 2 purple

 Easter Rabbit cupcake toppers

Speaking of catching me off guard, I just realized that I haven’t done a very good job of moving most of my Easter items over from my Etsy shop to this site – whoops! So if you’re looking for the super cute things that I’ve been making {and trust me, there are some REALLY cute new things in my shop!} you’ll need to look there this year. Oh well ….

Anyway, here’s some of the cuteness:

and those are only a few! I’m hoping to get them all posted here for you, too, but we’ll see how that goes. :) I’ll let you know!

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you saw that I mentioned shipping deadlines for Easter delivery: the deadline for guaranteed delivery with standard shipping is Monday, March 25 and Priority shipping is Wednesday, March 28. If you need rush shipping, let me know and I’d be happy to help!

Hope you all have a lovely, lovely weekend {we are expecting snow …} and I’ll be back soon :)

a little St. Patrick’s Day party

a little St. Patrick’s Day party

what do you get when you combine some green, some gold and a few cupcakes? A little St. Patrick’s Day party!

So, I’m not Irish. And we didn’t really celebrate St. Patrick’s Day growing up. But I do love a good party {and any excuse to have a cupcake} and I really enjoy the story of St. Patrick {my kids are most familiar with the Veggie Tales version}, so here’s one that I styled to celebrate!

You can find everything that I used {except for the chocolate coins and napkins – those are from Target :)} in the shop: Shamrock garland, chair garlands, party bags, shamrock cupcake toppers and book cupcake toppers

So, are you Irish? How do you celebrate? I’d love to hear!

How Tuesday: DIY Love Note Tree

How Tuesday: DIY Love Note Tree

So, perhaps you noticed that this How-Tuesday is on a Wednesday? Yes, it’s taken me a few days to get back up to speed after coming back from the wedding. But, even though it’s Wednesday and not Tuesday, I still wanted to post this for you {Valentine’s Day is coming! And you’ll want to start this as far ahead of the special day as possible, I imagine, so I didn’t want to wait until next week :)}.

DIY Love Tree Tags from the Path Less Traveled

Kind of inspired by Emily in this post, this is a “Love Note Tree” that, as each day goes by, will get another heart added with a little note telling your love what it is about them that you adore.

DIY Love Tree Tags from the Path Less Traveledmaterials needed: 14 paper hearts, hole punch, twine {or ribbon} and scissors, and a pen

DIY Love Tree Tags from the Path Less Traveledstep one: punch holes in your hearts

DIY Love Tree Tags from the Path Less Traveledstep two: write “I love:” on your hearts, filling in the things/reasons as you hang them on your “tree” {in my case, a branch}

DIY Love Tree Tags from the Path Less Traveledstep three: cut the twine in 4-6″ lengths, thread them through the hearts and tie DIY Love Tree Tags from the Path Less Traveledstep four: hang them on your “tree”

 So there you have it! By the time Valentine’s Day is here, this little branch will be full of hearts. <3 And each one will have another thing about John that I love, written on it for him to read.

Do you have any little projects that you’re doing for your love? Or, if you have kiddos, that you’re helping them to do? I’d love to hear about them!
